Event Introduction

Marzotto wool manufacturing and sustainability through the textile

Abstract

According to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, the fashion industry uses around 93 billion cubic meters of water every year making the dyeing process one of the most polluting and energy-intensive parts of our clothes. In this regard, Marzotto Wool Manufacturing promotes different projects directed to energy and water savings, from using eco-friendly chemicals to the research for more natural dyes. Furthermore, there is constant attention to traceability, to the efficiency of the production process and to rethinking the fabrics to reduce their impact at the end of life.
